Bortolatto was a three-time Big South selection in singles and twice in doubles during his career with the men's tennis team. Bortolatto helped the Eagles to back-to-back Big South Championships in 2005 and 2006. In 2006 he was an Arthur Ashe Sports Scholar selection, named an ITA Scholar Athlete and also named to the Big South All-Academic Team. The Dracena, Brazil native nearly averaged 20 wins per season.
