Jack Frost (administrator/1990-2017) – For 27 years, Frost guided the Winthrop Athletics communications efforts. He began his career as the sports information directory and later became the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations. During his tenure he brought the world wide web to Winthrop Athletics, becoming the first Big South Conference school to have an athletic website, which even predated a university website. He made an impact with the proposals of two annual awards for the Big South in the Scholar Athlete of the Year and the All-Academic Team for each sport. Frost jump started the idea for the Big South Conference All-Decade Teams and worked with Assistant Commissioner Mark Simpson to implement the selection process. In 2002 Frost proposed the establishment of the Winthrop Athletics Hall of Fame, wrote the by-laws, established criteria and following its adoption in 2003 he spent 14 years on the Hall of Fame nominating committee. Frost directed the publicity efforts for nine NCAA men's basketball appearances, on trip to the WNIT (women's basketball) and one NCAA women's basketball tournament.
