Marthaline Cooper (track & field/2014-17) – One of the most decorated student-athletes in the history of Winthrop Track & Field. Cooper earned All-America honors four times and was a six-time Big South champion. Earned her first Big South Title in 2014 at the Big South Outdoor Championship in the hammer throw and proceeded to do so again in 2015 and 2016. In 2015 Cooper earned her first indoor title in the weight throw and proceeded to do so again in 2016 and 2017. In 2015 she was voted the Big South Conference Outdoor Track & Field Most Outstanding Field Performer and earned that same honor at the 2016 and 2017 Big South Championship. Cooper qualified for the 2016 and 2017 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship and the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in 2015 and 2016.
