Hall of Fame
Rusty Theinert was a three-time NAIA All-American selection in 1981, 1982 and 1983, and was voted to the NAIA All-District 6 team in those same three years. In 1982, he was voted the NAIA District 6 Player of the Year. He holds the distinction of being Winthrop's first National Soccer Coaches Association All-American in 1982, and the only soccer player to be named NAIA All-American more than once. During his three-year Winthrop career, Theinert played in 59 games with 58 starts and helped lead the Eagles to a 38-24-6 record and a 15-win season in 1981.
