Winthrop University Athletics

Stephanie Morris, class of 1987, was a standout basketball student-athlete during her four-year career. She was honored in May of 2012 as a member of the All-Time NAIA District 6 Second Team. She ranks fifth on the Winthrop career scoring list with 1,550 points and holds the Winthrop single game scoring record with 37 points. She completed her career ranked first in school history for field goals made and rebounds, and still ranks second in field goals made with 664 and is third in rebounding with 838. Her single season scoring average of 15.8 points per game in 1984-85 ranks her eighth in Winthrop history. After earning a degree in physical education, she has taught in Columbia, S.C. for the past 26 years.
