Henry Kalungi (men's soccer/2006-08) – Is a three-time Big South All-Conference selection and three-time NSCAA All-Region selection. Played a key role for the 2006 and 2008 Big South Conference Championship teams as a defender. In three seasons he played in 56 games with 55 starts and finished with five goals and three assists. During his tenure the Eagles were 41-13-8 and 14-5-2 in the Big South. In 2009 he was drafted by the Colorado Rapids (MLS) in the MLS SuperDraft. Played professionally from 2009-14 for the Richmond Kickers of the USL and had 113 appearances. Kalungi was also a member of the Ugandan National Team and was called up for national team duty in 2011 and 2012 for World Cup qualifying. While he made a huge impact in the game of soccer, maybe his biggest impact has been the work of the Henry Kalungi Foundation (founded in 2016). The foundation is about transforming Uganda one child at a time. The foundation invests in hope, resource and opportunity in children to change their lives and transform their community.
