Jacob Dempsey (baseball/2003-06) – One of the top run producers in program history. Helped lead the team to a Big South Conference Championship in 2005 and NCAA Regional appearances in 2005 and 2006. Dempsey is a two-time All-Big South First Team selection and earned multiple All-America honors including ABCA All-American First Team, NCBWA All-American First Team, and Baseball America All-America Second Team. Dempsey is 1-of-9 players in program history to bat .400 or better in a single-season and in 2006 he set the program record for RBI with 78. That season he also became the first Eagle in program history to have 100 hits for a single-season (100). He is still the all-time leader in doubles and ranks 2nd in total bases and RBI, 3rd in home runs, 4th in runs, 4th in triples, 4th in walks and is 5th all-time in hits. Dempsey was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies  in 2006 in the 21st round.
