Kenneth Williams, Jr. Captures Men's Long Jump On Day One Of Big South Outdoor T&F Championships

High Point, N.C. – Kenneth Williams, Jr. leaped to the Big South Championship in the men's long jump on the first day of the 2024 Big South Outdoor Track And Field Championships on the campus of High Point University.

Champions (Day 1)

The senior Williams, Jr. leaped to a distance of 7.34m to claim Winthrop's first outdoor title of the 2024 championship.

Other Highlights

Other Day 1 highlights include senior Monay James finishing 6^th in the women's long jump while currently placing 3^rd thru day 1 of the heptathlon.
Other scorers include a 5-7-8 finish for Jakeim Pasley, Michael Boucher, and Dominique Nesbitt in the men's long jump.
Joining James in the long jump was sophomore Faith Wood in 8^th.
Winthrop also were 5^th and 7^th in the women's hammer behinds throws of Ambar Nunez-Gomez and Johntavia Shaw.
Devin Chavis was 6^th in the men's hammer.
