Track & Field Set To Host Winthrop Invitational

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- The Winthrop track and field teams are back in action to host the Winthrop Invitational scheduled for Apr. 17-18. Competition will kick off on Friday with the men's decathlon and women's heptathlon. Saturday will feature the senior recognition scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the conclusion of the men's 4x100m relay. Athletes and spectators are encouraged to park at Winthrop Coliseum due to the Come See Me festival in addition to home games for women's lacrosse and men's baseball. ABOUT THE EAGLES 
  • Select athletes competed at the Duke Invitational Apr. 10-11. This will be the first competition for the majority of the team since the VertKlasse Meeting on Apr. 2-3
  • Newly minted head coach Raffael Craig guides the Eagles in his first season at the helm
  • The men's squad returns 25, adding ten newcomers 
  • The women's squad returns 16, and adds 13 new athletes

ON THE TRACK 

  • Anna Conrad moved to No. 3 in school history in the women's 5000m with a time of 17:22.22 at the Duke Invitational
  • Mitchell Hill competed in the 800m, opening his outdoor season in 1:53.15
