Jamison, Wood, Conrad Place in Record Book at Tryon College Banked Invitational

TRYON, N.C. -- The Winthrop University track and field units turned in multiple top-10 finishes Friday at the Tryon Banked Invitational, highlighted by balanced performances across the track and field. 
IN THE FIELD 
  • Maurion Jamison placed seventh in the men's triple jump with a mark of 14.70m, earning second place in the school record book. 
  • Faith Wood led the women's triple jump group with a fifth-place finish after clearing 11.74m, placing her at third in the record book 
  • Kennedi Sanders followed with a ninth-place effort in the triple jump at 11.44m 
  • Katlyn Young-Coleman recorded a ninth-place finish in the women's long jump, posting a 5.44m mark 
  • Carina Fiorucci cleared 3.25m to finish seventh in the women's pole vault 
  • Boyd Brackett secured an eighth-place finish in the men's shot put with a throw of 13.96m 
  • Autumn Craig paced the women's weight throw with a sixth-place toss of 14.69m 
  • Timothy Speaks rounded out the throws with a 10th-place finish in the men's weight throw at 14.68m 

ON THE TRACK 
  • Mitchell Hill finished fifth in the men's 800 meters, crossing in 1:56.44 
  • Kayah Marques matched that placement in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:21.00  
  • Shane King added a 10th-place result in the men's 200 meters at 21.97 
  • Tristen Patterson placed ninth in the men's 300 meters with a time of 35.20 
  • Darrell Price closed out the sprints with a 10th-place finish in the men's 400 meters 
  • Anna Conrad led the distance group with a runner-up finish in the women's mile and later placed third in the 3000 meters, for fifth in the women's mile school record book 
  • Kayah Marques returned in the mile to earn a fifth-place finish at 5:09.57 
  • Olivia Kemp cracked the top 10 in the women's 3000 meters, finishing seventh in 10:39.67 
  • The men's 4x400-meter "B" relay of Raffael Craig II, Davis Kinard, Mitchell Hill, and Jalen Powell finished second with a time of 3:20.65
