CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Winthrop men's & women's track & field had several top-ten finishes on the first day of the 49er Classic on Friday.

In The Field

• Jaden Mathieu finished second in the high jump at 2.05 meters (6-8.75), setting a personal best and breaking the Winthrop freshman record
• Libby Roush and To'Mara Carmichael went 3-4 in the women's discus as they threw 40.17 meters (131-9) and 39.42 meters (129-4), respectively
• Elizbeth Barnett posted a fourth-place finish in the pole vault (Section B) as she cleared 2.90 meters (9-6.25)
• Taylor Anderson finished eighth in the long jump as she recorded a leap of 5.35 meters (17-6.75)
• Jelani Haigler was ninth in the long jump with a leap of 6.47 meters (21-2.75)

On The Track

• Toluwayan Agbeyomi was third in the 100 meters with a time of 10.64 seconds
• Bautista Vivanco finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles, running a time of 55.20 seconds
• Jeremiah Boyd was sixth in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:12.40
