The Eagles (32-14) are looking to extend a winning streak that is up to ten games. The streak is the longest for head coach
Tom Riginos and the longest Winthrop has had since winning 11 straight back in 2006. That year was the last time the Eagles qualified for NCAA Tournament. Collegiate Baseball gave Winthrop a #32 national ranking just behind conference rival Coastal Carolina. The Eagles' RPI is in the top-75 in the country and the offense ranks 13
th in the nation with 465 total hits.
Roger Gonzalez and
Brad Kaczka lead the team in batting average, both with a .358 average and 112 combined hits. Pitcher
Sam Kmiec is currently 18th in the nation with 86 strikeouts.
Furman (19-24) is trying to snap a four-game losing streak after defeating South Carolina 2-1 on April 21. The Paladins rank 14
th in the nation in home runs with 44, led by Jordan Simpson and Chris Ohmstede who have a combined 20. Ohmstede also leads the team with 55 hits and 42 RBI. Furman's pitching staff has an ERA of 6.07, giving up 306 runs on 442 hits.
