Asheville, N.C. – Winthrop saw seven athletes advance to the finals in various events on the first day of the 2025 Big South Outdoor Track And Field Championships on the campus of UNC Asheville.

- Daren Hinds placed 5th in the men's 10000m run with a time of 31:11.62
Advancing To Finals
- Jurnii Lucas and Wathen Montgomery advanced to the finals in the men's 400m hurdles
- Lucas's third place 54.90 finish in the prelims was a season best
- In the women's 400m hurdles, Sydney Yarema and Ariana Washington earned themselves a spot in the finals with personal best times of 1:06.67 and 1:07.77, respectively
- Kevin Brown advanced to the finals in the men's 200m dash with a personal best time of 21.41
- Jade Reese qualified for the finals in the women's 200m dash with a personal best time of 24.63
- Anna Conrad moved on to the finals in the women's 1500m run with a time of 4:55.35
