Breau Sets New School Record; Eagles Post Six First Place Finishes On First Day Of WUPax Invite Friday

Rock Hill, S.C. – Brianna Breau set a new school record in the women's javelin throw and the Eagles posted six first place finishes after day one of the WUPax Invitational on Friday afternoon.

Top Performances

On The Track (1^st Place)

The women's 4x200 relay squad consisting of Raven Verner, Jordan Bailem, Amayia Whitlock and Jade Reese captured the top spot in the event with a time of 1:43.33
The men's 4x200 relay team consisting of Shadrach Nvodjo, Kevin Brown, DeAngelo Brooks and Shane King also nabbed the top honors with a time of 1:27.42

On The Field (1^st Place)

Johntavia Shaw won the women's hammer with a toss of 50.82m
Devin Chavis took home the men's hammer with a hurl of 47.65m
Brianna Breau not only won the women's javelin throw with a toss of 40.52m but set a new school record in the process
Nvodjo racked in his second event of the day as well as the sixth victory overall for the Eagles on the first day of the meet with a leap of 1.90m in the high jump

Sydney Yarema finished third in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.06 and finished third in the women's high jump with a leap of 1.45m
In the women's 4x200 relay, a team consisting of Alexandra Cameron, Maya Flynn, Ariana Washington and Jasmine Stokes were runner-up with a time of 1:46.11
In the men's 4x200 relay, a team consisting of Carlos Frank Jr., Reggie Grant, Kendale Cooke, and Jurnii Lucas also finished in second with a time of 1:28.22
In the men's 400m hurdles, Lucas and Wathen Montgomery were second and third, respectively
In the men's 800m run, Chadwick Sisson placed second with a time of 1:56.25 while Anna Conrad also finished second in the women's 800m run with a time of 2:19.12
In the men's hammer, Timothy Speaks finished third with a hurl of 44.27m
In the women's javelin, Erica Tobin was runner-up with a toss of 35.10m while Gabriel Little was also second in the men's javelin with a mark of 47.78m
In the men's high jump, Jaden Mathieu finished second with a leap of 1.85m
