Charlotte, N.C. - Winthrop's 4x400 relay team was honored as the Big South Men's Track Athlete of the Week while freshman
DeAngelo Brooks was honored as the Big South Men's Track Freshman of the Week for competitions during the weekend of Feb. 21-23, the Conference office announced today.
The relay team consisted of freshman
Kendale Cooke, junior
Jurnii Lucas, senior
Kevin Brown and sophomore
Shane King.
Cooke, Lucas, Brown and King finished runner-up at the USC Invite with a time of 3:13.91, which ranks second in the league this season.
Brooks set a PR in the 60m dash at the USC Invite with a time of 6.97 to finish 10th overall, marking his highest standing in any event this season.
