Rock Hill, S.C. – Graduate guard Nick Johnson (MBB) and senior forward Marissa Gasaway (WBB) have been named the Comporium Student-Athletes of the Month.

Johnson scored a team-high 20 points to help lead Winthrop in an 86-78 win at Queens on Dec. 3, reaching 1,000 career points in the process. He then scored a career-high 22 points to help lead Winthrop to a 102-97 victory over Mercer at home on Dec. 21.

Johnson played 170 minutes, shooting more than 50% from the field and nearly 50% from the free throw line, while racking up 24 rebounds, 12 assists, 11 steals and 120 points in the month of December this season.

The highlight of the month for Gasaway was notching a near double-double vs. NC Central on Dec. 20 with 16 points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes of action.

Gasaway enters January having played 87 minutes, shooting 43% from the field and 55% from the free throw line to go along with 23 rebounds and 36 points.
