High Point, N.C. – Faith Wood's school record in triple jump highlighted 11 top eight finishes for the
Winthrop men's & women's track & field programs over the weekend at the VertKlasse Meeting on the campus of High Point University. This was one of the largest meets in the country with over 400 teams and 1500 athletes.

In The Field
- In the women's triple jump, sophomore Faith Wood finished sixth with a mark of 11.75m. Her mark is a new school record breaking Tomeika Banks record from 21 years ago of 11.67.
- In the women's javelin throw, junior Erica Tobin placed eighth with a toss of 34.52.
- In the men's triple jump, sophomore Maurion Jamison placed eighth with a mark of 13.69m.
On The Track
- In the women's 5000m run, sophomore Olivia Kemp placed eighth with a time of 18:26.81.
- The women's 4x100m relay team placed eighth with a time of 48.90.
- In the men's 100m dash, senior Toluwayan Agbeyomi placed seventh with a time of 10.60.
- In the men's 200m dash, sophomore Kevin Brown placed eighth with a time of 21.74.
- Brown also finished eighth in the men's 400m dash participate.
- In the men's 5000m run, junior Daren Hinds placed seventh with a time of 14:59.28.
- In the men's 800m dash participate, sophomore Mitchell Hill finished fourth with a time of 1:57.46.
- In the men's 400m hurdles participate, sophomore Matthew Wright finished sixth with a time of 58.85.

The Eagles have next weekend off and will continue their outdoor season at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Ga. from Friday, Apr. 19 to Saturday, Apr. 20.
