Gainesville, FL – Winthrop claimed three wins and several Top 8 performances in their fifth meet of the 2023-24 indoor track and field season at the Florida Last Chance Meet on Friday.

In The Field
- Senior Ambar Nunez-Gomez started the Eagles of on the right foot with a winning heave of 16.75m in the women's weight throw.
- Senior Kenneth Williams Jr. claimed the men's long jump with a leap of 6.93m and jumped 1.95m in the men's high jump for 2nd place.
- Sophomore Johntavia Shaw threw 14.00m in the women's shot put to get the win.
- Sophomore Timothy Speaks placed 2nd in the men's weight throw with a hurl of 16.84m and 4th in the men's shot put with a mark of 13.79m.
- Sophomore Monay James was 5th in the women's long jump and 6th in the women's shot put.
- Sophomore Maurion Jamison was 4th in the men's triple jump.
- Sophomore Faith Wood was 7th in the women's triple jump.
- Freshman Jaylen Lynch was 8th in the women's long jump.

"Great meet after a long trip down to Florida," Paxton said. "The team performed great facing teams we have not seen all year."
