Lynchburg, Va. – Winthrop competed in their fourth meet of the 2023-24 indoor track and field season at the Liberty Open on Saturday.

In The Field
- Sophomore Faith Wood had a leap of 11.72m in the women's triple jump to finish 3rd. Her leap is currently tops in the Big South and #2 all-time at Winthrop.
- Sophomore Maurion Jamison finished 6th in the men's triple jump with a leap of 14.10m. This mark also leads the Big South.
- Senior Kenneth Williams Jr. finished 5th in the men's high jump at 1.95m.
- Freshman Jakeim Pasley was 6th in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.72m.
On The Track
- Sophomore Kevin Brown was 8th in the 400m dash with a time of 50.69.
Coach Paxton Post-Meet Comments
"I really felt the team stepped up as we took a reduced squad to Liberty," Paxton said. "We want more opportunities for those early in the season. Next week looks to be a good indicator as we head to the new facility in Alachua Co., FL for the Florida Collegiate Last Chance Meet!"
