Blacksburg, VA –Winthrop competed in the first day of the 2024 Big South Indoor Track And Field Championships, capturing three All-Big South honors while 12 athletes qualified for the Day 2 finals in sprints.

In The Field
- Senior Monay James claimed All Big-South Honors with her 2nd place finish in the women's pentathlon. Her point total of 3,338 points moves her to #2 all-time in school history.
- This was Winthrop's first all-conference placement in this event since Taryn DeLeon placed 2nd with 3,307 points in 2017.
- Johntavia Shaw heaves 14.17m in the women's shot put to claim 3rd and All-Big South Honors. She narrowly missed her school record by .01m.
- This was Winthrop's first all-conference placement in this event since Ashley Howard won the event with a toss of 13.36m in 2010.
- Kenneth Williams Jr. finished 2nd in the men's long jump leading a 2-4-5 finish for the Eagles.
- This was Winthrop's first all-conference placement in this event since Colby Thorn placed second with a leap of 7.30m in 2019.
