Rock Hill, S.C. - Winthrop has been predicted to finish fifth in the annual Big South Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field preseason poll by the league's head coaches, the conference office announced Wednesday afternoon.
 
High Point tallied six first-place votes and 36 total points in the poll, ahead of Charleston Southern, who garnered 30 points. UNC Asheville claimed third with 19 points, while USC Upstate claimed fourth in the voting with 17 points. Winthrop (14 points) and Gardner-Webb (10 points) finished in fifth and sixth respectively, to round out the poll.
 
The 2024-25 men's indoor track & field season begins this weekend and concludes with the 2025 Big South Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship, Feb. 28-Mar. 1 at Carolina Indoor Track & Field Complex in Columbia, S.C.
