Rock Hill, S.C. – The Winthrop women's lacrosse program has announced their 2025 schedule. The full schedule can be found HERE.
 
"We are super excited about our 2025 spring schedule!" interim head coach Hannah Potter said. "The opportunity to play at home on Eagle Field is always so fun, but to be able to do it ten times this season is extra special. We are looking forward to seeing new opponents and spending some of our spring break in Virginia Beach. Our team had a fun time guessing our opponents in a garnet and gold Family Feud-style competition! This group will make anything competitive and I am excited to see family, friends, and alumni be able to witness that same fire on the field this spring. The non-conference schedule will feature home games with San Diego State, Charlotte, Farleigh Dickinson, Merrimack and California. Road trips out-of-conference include Davidson, Queens and Old Dominion. It will be the first time in program history the Eagles will be facing Charlotte, Farleigh Dickinson and Merrimack.
 
Winthrop will open the season at home with a non-conference matchup against San Diego State on Feb. 14 at 4 p.m.
 
Charlotte is in their inaugural year as a program. The 49ers will play in the American Athletic Conference, alongside East Carolina, James Madison, Old Dominion, Temple, Vanderbilt, and fellow first-year program South Florida. Charlotte coach Clare Short, hired in June 2022 to build the program from scratch, has finalized her roster for the inaugural season with the addition of 12 transfers. The 12 transfers, which include five transfers from the ACC, one from the Big East, and one from the Big Ten, complete an inaugural roster that features 15 other members.
 
Farleigh Dickinson will be in their third year as a program, led by head coach Jessica Pandolf, also in her third season at the New Jersey institution. She was named the first coach in FDU women's lacrosse program history on June 30, 2021. Last season in 2024, Farleigh Dickinson went 2-14 and 2-8 in NEC play. Nora Codianni and Karly Dillabough were named to the 2024 NEC All-Rookie Team.
 
Merrimack went 4-12 and 4-6 in the NEC last season. The school has sponsored women's lacrosse since 1999. Four of their players represented the Warriors in the 2024 Northeast Conference Yearly Awards.
 
The Eagles will kick off conference play at home vs. Radford on Mar. 26 and will also make road trips to High Point, Wofford, Gardner-Webb and Furman.
 
Winthrop will welcome Radford, Presbyterian, Mercer and Longwood to Eagle Field during the conference slate.
 
The 2025 Big South Women's Lacrosse Tournament will feature the top six teams in the final conference standings. The champion receives the Big South's automatic bid to the NCAA regional.
