LYNCHBURG, Va. – Winthrop men's & women's track & field continued their 2022-23 indoor track and field season with their fourth meet at the Liberty Open.

Results
In The Field (Top 8 Finishes)
- On the men's side, junior Kenneth Williams, Jr. finished second in the high jump with a mark of 1.95m.
- On the women's side, junior Monay James finished sixth in the long jump with a PR leap of 5.22m.
- In the shot put, freshman Catrice Lawson finished seventh with a PR mark of 9.35m.
- In the shot put Section A, freshman Johntavia Shaw and senior To'Mara Carmichael finished third and seventh with marks of 12.69 and 11.72m, respectively.
- Carmichael also finished third in the weight throw with a toss of 16.46m. In the same event, junior Ambar Nunez-Gomez finished fifth with a toss of 16.09m
On The Track (Top 8 Finishes)
- On the men's side, sophomore Kevin Brown finished seventh with a time of 7.21 in the 60m dash.
- Freshman Jurnii Lucas finished eighth with a PR time of 51.03 in the 400m dash.
- In the 500m dash, sophomores Ian Gresham and Brailyn Washington finished third and seventh with times of 1:06.66 and 1:09.13, respectively. Both were PR's.
- In the 4x400 relay, Winthrop finished first with a time of 3:22.12.
What's Next
The Eagles will have a week off but will then return to the Old Dominion State by competing in Blacksburg at the Virginia Tech Challenge from Feb. 17-18.
