Lynchburg, Va. – The Winthrop track & field programs began the 2023-24 indoor season at the Liberty Kickoff, posting several impressive performances.

In The Field
- On the men's side, Michael Boucher made his Eagle debut, finishing fifth in the finals of the long jump with a mark of 6.73m.
- Kenneth Williams Jr. finished fourth in the finals of the high jump with a mark of 1.90m.
- Timothy Speaks finished seventh the finals of the weight throw with a toss of 15.63m, setting a new PR.
- On the women's side, Faith Wood finished eighth in the finals of the long jump with a mark of 5.13m.
- She also placed fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.38m.
On The Track
- On the men's side, Jonquez Webb, Toluwayan Agbeyomi and Boucher all finished in the top eight in the finals of the 60m dash.
- On the women's side, the 4x400 relay team placed third in the finals with a time of 4:12.95.
Up Next
The Eagles will have the rest of December off and are back in action at the Carolina Challenge hosted by the University of South Carolina from Jan. 19-20.
