Rock Hill, S.C. - Winthrop has been predicted to finish fifth in the annual Big South Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field preseason poll by the league's head coaches, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon.
 
High Point tallied five first-place votes and 25 total points in the poll, ahead of Charleston Southern, who garnered one? first-place vote and 31 points. UNC Asheville claimed third with 23 points, while USC Upstate claimed fourth in the voting with 16 points. Winthrop (13 points) and Gardner-Webb (eight points) finished in fifth and sixth respectively, to round out the poll.
 
The 2023-24 men's indoor track & field season begins this week and concludes with the 2024 Big South Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship, Feb. 23-24 at Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va.
