Winthrop Lacrosse Earns Several IWLCA Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. - The Winthrop Lacrosse program has been named a 2022 Academic Honor Squad, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association announced Wednesday afternoon. Additionally, Lauren Asher, Molly Dankowski, Megan Dee, and Jenna Diebert were honored as Division I Honor Roll performers.

In order to qualify as an academic honor squad, the team must have a 3.2 or higher grade point average for the academic year. On the individual side, the honorees must be eligible juniors, seniors, and graduate students who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Asher and Dankowski both ranked top-three on the Eagles in total points with Dankowski playing in and starting all 18 contests. They combined for 55 goals, 17 assists, 53 ground balls, 29 caused turnovers, and 55 draw controls on the season. Diebert played in all 18 games with nine starts, making meaningful contributions on the defensive side of the field with 13 ground balls, four caused turnovers, and a draw control while also chipping in with a lone assist. Dee appeared in six contests with two starts, notching three ground balls and a caused turnover.
