Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop women's golf had six members named 2021-22 Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars.
Sarah Funderburg was named for a fourth straight season as the Eagles get six golfers recognized for the first time in program history.
Sabrina Fonda earned her second WGCA All-American Scholars honors. It is also the second time
Makenna Brindley,
Regan Clifford and
Valentine Savioz have earned this honor. Freshman
Emilie Marie Marceliussen-Dahl also earned All-American Scholar honors.
This is the 17
th straight year the Eagles have at least one golfer earn WGCA All-American Scholar honors and the 10
th straight year with three or more selections. The Eagles have had 53 scholars since the 2004-05 season.
To be nominated for WGCA All-American Scholar awards, student-athletes much have an overall GPA of 3.50 or higher for their entire collegiate career and have compiled 50 percent of the teams competitions for the school year to be nominated. This year there were a total of 1,485 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor.
