Eagles Finish Well At 49er Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Winthrop men's & women's track & field finished up at the 49er Classic on Saturday.

In The Field
  • To'Mara Carmichael was seventh in the women's shot put as she threw 11.72 meters (38-5.5)
  • Erica Tobin finished 11th in the women's javelin with a throw of 29.09 meters (95-5)
On The Track
  • The men's 4x400 meter relay was third in a time of 3:20.03
  • The men's 4x100 meter relay finished fourth with a time of 42.28 seconds
  • Winthrop's women were eighth in the same event in a time of 48.92 seconds
  • The women's 4x400 meter relay was 11th in a time of 4:32.42
  • In her return from injury, Olivia Paxton placed 19th in the women's 3000-meter run with a time of 11:49.53

What's Next
The Eagles have a week off before hosting the Winthrop/Adidas Invitational from Mar. 24-26.
