ROCK HILL, SC - Winthrop returns home Friday and Saturday, May 14-15 to host the Longwood Lancers. First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 3 p.m. while Saturday's double header will begin at 12 p.m.

Winthrop is coming off a midweek loss to preseason favorite, Campbell, 12-3. The Eagles finish the regular season 7-12 on the road.
Ty Hooks, reigning Big South Freshman of the Week, kept things rolling against the Camels, going 1-for-3 at the plate, driving in
Andrew Jenner on a double to right center to give Winthrop its only lead of the night. Hooks is 1-of-4 Eagles batting over .300 this season, leading the way with a .350 average, sixth best in the Big South.
Dalton Mims has been reliable out of the pen, earning Big South Relief Pitcher of the Week honors after earning a win and a save in Winthrop's sweep over Charleston Southern.
Spencer Yankle is powerful at the plate, driving in a team-high 29 runs and lacing a team-high 13 doubles. He also has three home runs, second most on the squad.
Tyler Jones and
Colten Rendon will get the nod in Game 1 and Game 2 against Longwood. Jones was solid in his last start, throwing 5.1 innings and striking out two. He gave up two runs off three hits. He was given the no decision after the Eagles won in 11 innings, 4-2. Last time out, Rendon pitched five scoreless innings for the Eagles, striking out three and improving to 3-2 on the season behind a 17-4 victory.
The Lancers have won back-to-back games entering the weekend series, taking down UNC Asheville in their series finale, 5-3, before defeating High Point at home, 8-1. They currently sit in last place of the Big South standings with a 9-20 mark in conference play.
In Longwood's most recent win over the Panthers, freshman Corbin McCloud was 4-for-4 at the dish, driving in a career-high three runs. Ricky Jimenez also drove in three runs in the win.
Eliot Dix's 34 RBI on the season is a Longwood-best and 10th most in the Big South. Jack Schnell leads the Lancers with his .326 battingn average. Dix is the only other Lancer batting over .300 with a .324 mark.
Earlier in the season in Farmville, V.A., the Eagles took 2-of-3 from the Lancers and have won nine of the last 10 meetings.
