Rock Hill, S.C. – Some of Winthrop's top men's and women's track & field performers are headed to the Virginia Challenge in what is expected to be a highly competitive meet.

EAGLES AT A GLANCE
- The Eagles will have six athletes competing in the meet as they look to hit qualifying marks for the NCAA Regional
- The competitors will be Jacob Furland, Jalen Hodges, Evan Hailes, Colby Thorn, Malik Harper and Olivia Paxton
- Furland will compete in the hammer and look to improve on his season-best mark of 57.55m (School Record)
- Hodges is competing in the high jump and looks to improve on his season-best 2.08m, which he accomplished Apr. 10
- Hailes will compete in the triple jump and has a season-best leap of 14.89m which he accomplished at the Winthrop/Adidas Inv.
- Thorn will look to improve on his mark of 7.16m which he posted in his last meet (Winthrop Quad) in the long jump
- Harper is the lone sprinter as he looks to improve his season-best mark of 18.86 in the 100m
- Olivia Paxton is the only distance runner representing the Eagles as she'll compete in the 10k, which she is running for the first time this outdoor season

UVA ATTENDANCE POLICY
Due to health and safety considerations, in addition to the current guidelines for sports venues set by the Commonwealth of Virginia, attendance for UVA home meets is limited to the family of student-athletes and coaching staff until further notice.
