Men's Basketball Hosts Furman Tuesday Night

Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop looks to bounce back from Saturday's loss at Coastal Carolina when it hosts Furman, Tuesday night at 7 p.m. inside the Winthrop Coliseum.

400 WINS
On Dec. 1 against Hartford, the Eagles earned an 82-75 victory for the 400th win all-time inside the Winthrop Coliseum. The Eagles are now 400-156 (.719 winning percentage) in 40 seasons playing in the Winthrop Coliseum. Eagles have won at least 11 or more games in each of the last nine seasons.
CELEBRATING 40 YEARS
This the 40th year for the Winthrop Coliseum, which opened its doors in Nov. 17, 1982 with the Eagles hosting Lander in a 61-60 loss. The Eagles have won 10 or home games in 25 of the 39 previous seasons (2-0 this year). Over the decades the Winthrop Coliseum has been a place for so many memorable moments between the volleyball and basketball programs. It has hosted the entire Big South Conference men's basketball tournament three times (1988, 1989, 1990) and hosted the tournament title game nine times including the last two seasons (2020/2021). The Big South Volleyball Championship was held at the coliseum in 1993, 2002, 2010 and most recently 2019 with the Eagle volleyball program claiming its 6th conference title. In 2013, the women's basketball program held the first ever postseason game in the Winthrop Coliseum when it welcomed Florida for the second round of the WNIT. The Winthrop Coliseum has been the site of many events over the year from wrestling, concerts, graduations and even the ACC Women's Basketball Championship from 1993-96.
