Logan Duncomb Lou Henson Award

Duncomb Named Finalist For Lou Henson Award

Rock Hill, S.C. – Winthrop's Logan Duncomb has been named a finalist by collegeinsider.com for the 2025-26 Lou Henson Award, which is presented annually to the top player in mid-major college basketball.

Duncomb enjoyed one of the finest statistical seasons in the history of the program as he averaged 18.3 ppg and 8.9 rpg. He was voted to the Big South All-Conference First Team and voted Player of the Year. His success stretch across the non-conference and conference seasons as he posted 14 games with 20 or more points and 14 double-doubles.

Along the way, Duncomb broke the single-season records for free throws made (189) and free throws attempted (258). He broke the free throws made record previously held by Keon Johnson in 2016-17 (171) and the free throws attempted record that had stood for 46 seasons of 235 set in 1980-81 by Charles Brunson. He became the second Eagle in program history to average a double-double in conference play with 21.3 ppg, 10.3 rpg. He is also just the second player in program history to average 20 or more points vs. league competition and it was just the third time ever (Keon Johnson did it twice).

Duncomb posted his first 30-point game on Dec. 31 in the league opener at Longwood as he scored 31 on 12-of-16 shooting from the field. On Jan. 24, the Eagles traveled to PC where Duncomb scored a career-high 38 points, connected on 13 field goals and converting 12 free throws. The 38 points were the third highest by an Eagle in any road game (non-conference/Big South). On Jan. 31 at UNC Asheville, he tied the program's single-game mark in free throws made (18) and was one shy of the free throw attempts mark with 19. He finished the season with six games with 10 or more made field goals and six games with 10 or more made free throws. He set a career-high in assists on Feb. 12 at Gardner-Webb as he finished with 24 points, 15 rebounds and six assists. He then set his career-high in rebounds the next game on Feb. 19 vs. USC Upstate with 16.

This past week Duncomb was announced as a finalist by collegeinsider.com for the 2026 Nolan Richardson Award, which is presented annually to an NCAA D1 player who is the heart and soul of his team and a leader on and off the court.

The recipient of the annual award is determined by a 10-member voting committee, which consists of current and former head coach, as well as two senior staff members of collegeinsider.com. The 2026 award will be announced in Indianapolis, Ind., site of the men's Division I Basketball Championship.
