Rock Hill, S.C. – ESPNU has selected the UNC Asheville at Winthrop men's basketball game for its Thursday, Jan. 28 Big South Wildcard broadcast, it was announced by Wednesday by the Big South Conference office. The matchup will take place at the Winthrop Coliseum and tip time is set for 7 p.m.
Winthrop and Asheville were originally set to play its series Feb. 18-19, but to accommodate ESPN's selection the series will now be played Jan. 28-29. Friday's game between the Bulldogs and Eagles will tip at 6 p.m. It will mark the 5
th time these two teams have squared off in an ESPNU Wildcard game.
This will be the fourth ESPNU Big South Wildcard broadcast of the 2020-21 season and the third time for the Eagles. Winthrop recently played Longwood at home on Jan. 14 on ESPNU and came away with a 72-61 victory.
