- Winthrop is looking for its first win of the 2020 season after falling to #24 Wake Forest, William & Mary, James Madison and Virginia Tech
- Eagles earned a 6-1 win over College of Charleston in 2019.
- All-time the Eagles are 6-6 against the Cougars
- Alisa Soloveva (No.2), Rafaela Santos (No.4) and Tayla Van Eck (No. 5) all earned a win in last year's singles matchups
- Tayla Van Eck and her partner won No. 3 doubles against CoC last season, while Alisa Soloveva and Rafaela Santos led 5-4 in their unfinished doubles match.
- Alexandra Ferreira da Silva is coming off Big South Conference Freshman Player of the Week honors for her No. 2 doubles match win over JMU and for battling back to win her No. 3 singles match against Virginia Tech the last time out.

- Opened the season with a 5-2 win over fellow Big South Conference member, Gardner-Webb and have defeated North Carolina A&T, South Carolina State and Charleston Southern
