Plan For Spectators At The Coliseum Announced

Rock Hill, S.C. – Due to ongoing concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, Winthrop Athletics has made the decision to not host any spectators at the Winthrop Coliseum for the remainder of 2020.

This decision impacts the conference opening games for women's basketball against USC Upstate (Dec. 17, 18), the men's basketball's non-conference game against Furman (Dec. 19), and the men's basketball's home conference opening games against Campbell (Dec. 30,31).

Should fans be permitted to attend remaining home games during the 2020-21 season at the Winthrop Coliseum, all tickets will be sold on a single-game basis as a reduced capacity can be expected. Ticket priority will be provided for current Winthrop Eagle Club members, prior year season ticket holders, and students as well as family members of the basketball programs.  Season ticket plans will not be available for these games.
For those who have already purchased basketball season tickets, you may choose between three options:
  • Convert the ticket investment into a one-time tax-deductible contribution towards the Winthrop Eagle Club
  • Apply the ticket purchase towards the full investment in season tickets for the 2021-22 basketball season
  • Receive a refund for the full amount of the 2020-21 ticket purchase
To make your arrangements please contact the ticket office by phone at (803) 323-2345 or email tickets@winthrop.edu.  All current season ticket holders who had a full season ticket plan for the 2019-20 season will have the opportunity to renew their original seat location(s) for the 2021-22 season.

All men's and women's home games this season will be available to watch on ESPN+, unless picked up by another ESPN network. For access to ESPN+, a subscription is required. All men's basketball home and away games can also be heard on OTS Media of Rock Hill (94.3 FM and 104.1 The Bridge), the flagship station for Winthrop Athletics.

Fan attendance will be re-evaluated on a periodic basis based on guidelines regarding safe events and competition from local and state authorities and Winthrop University.
Updates will be provided when available at winthropeagles.com.
