EYE ON THE EAGLES

Despite an 0-3 start to the season, there have been some bright spots for Winthrop including Abhi Vannemreddy. The freshman took home Big South Player of the Week in his first week of action before receiving Big South Freshman of the Week last week.  Vannemreddy is 3-0 at No. 1 singles on the year.

SCOUTING NAVY

The Midshipmen are coming off a doubleheader Friday in which they played East Carolina and St. Francis College Brooklyn.  Throughout the first few weeks of the season, Navy has seen several lineup changes with Greg Durham, Gavin Segraves, and Andrew Ton all seeing time at No. 1 singles.  After an impressive run that saw them fall in the first round of last season's NCAA Tournament, the Midshipmen will provide a tough test for the Eagles on Saturday.

PIRATE REPORT

ECU comes into the weekend hot after winning their first two matches of the season. The Pirates are led by Diogo Marques and Javier Renones at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.  Led by Coach Shawn Heinchon in his 15^th season, ECU is expecting a big 2020 season and will be a good nonconference test for Winthrop.
