Eagles Suffer Losses on Road

Greenville, S.C. – Winthrop men's tennis suffered two defeats this weekend at the hands of Queens and Furman.  The Eagles are now 0-3 on the young season.
 
QUEENS
Winthrop opened the match with wins at both No. 1 and 2 doubles.  The Royals didn't back down and rallied back in singles competition. Despite Winthrop getting wins from Abhi Vannemreddy and Lluis Miralles at the top two spots, Queens was able to take the rest of the singles points and earn them the 4-3 victory.

FURMAN
The Paladins started strong in doubles play and swept the Eagles. Abhi Vannemreddy remained unbeaten in singles play picking up his third victory of the season. Vannemreddy's win at No. 1 singles was the Eagles only win in what was an impressive performance from a tough Furman squad.
