The Eagles return six players from last spring's squad that finished 2-6 in Big South play. Connor Williamson and Gabriel Dias will be counted on for big senior seasons, as they each return from solid 2019 campaigns.

Williamson finished the 2019 spring season with a 9-11 singles record, while combining with Diego Quiroz to post a 7-2 record, at the No. 1 spot in doubles play.  The New Zealand native is expected to once again be among Winthrop's top players in both categories.

Dias' 2019 spring season saw him jump into No. 2 and 3 in singles, where he finished with a combined 10-9 record. The Brazilian split time between all three doubles positions and finished the year with 7-10 doubles record.

Some underclassmen to look out for this spring include Lluis Miralles and Abhimanyu Vannermreddy

Miralles had an up-and-down freshman season finishing 3-10 in singles competition, but head coach, John Collins, expects big things from the Spaniard in his sophomore campaign. Despite some struggles in singles play, Miralles showed flashes of brilliance in doubles play, finishing with an 8-9 record.

Vannermreddy joins the Eagles after collecting several youth accolades in Europe and his native India.  The freshman made the semifinals of the Big South Fall Invitational and will be at the top of Winthrop's singles lineup from the get-go this spring.
