Collins Announces 2019-20 Men's Tennis Schedule

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Winthrop men's tennis announced its fall and spring schedules for 2019-20, which consists of six tournaments in the fall and 22 matches in the spring.

The Eagles squad will open the fall on Sunday, September 15, with the Queens University Royals Rumble in Charlotte, N.C.  Following the opening competition, the team will travel to Macon, Georgia for the Mercer Gridiron Classic, beginning Friday, September 20.  The fall schedule will also include a return trip to the South Carolina Collegiate Championships in Belton, S.C., and the ITA Carolina Regional, held in Cary, N.C.  The Eagles will finish the fall slate at the Furman Hidden Dual Tournament, before heading to the Big South Fall Invitational Tournament, hosted by Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. 
 
The spring season will consist of 14 non-conference matches and eight Big South Conference competitions, with the Eagles hosting eight home matches in Rock Hill.  The spring will begin with a trip north to Charlotte to take on Queens University on Friday, January 18, followed by a trip to Davidson the next day.  The first home match of the season will take place on Friday, January 24, as the Eagles host Lenoir-Rhyne.
 
The Big South Conference season begins on Friday, February 21, when Winthrop hosts Hampton.  Following the completion of the regular season, the Eagles will travel to Asheville, N.C. for the Big South Conference Tournament, which begins Tuesday, April 14.
