EAGLE HIGHLIGHTS
-Lauren Proctor earning her fourth-consecutive Player of the Year award highlighted a bevy of Big South Conference awards for the Eagles in 2019. Cid Carvalho was named Coach of the Year, four Eagles (Proctor, Alisa Soloveva, Rafaela Santos and Ellie Burns) earned All-Conference in singles, and all three Winthrop doubles duos earned All-Conference honors (Proctor and Megan Kauffman, Soloveva/Santos, Burns/Tayla Van Eck).

-With an undefeated 9-0 record, Winthrop won its 20th regular season Big South title in 2019 and went unbeaten in league play for a second-consecutive season. The Eagles went on to win their 21st overall Big South Conference Championship title to earn the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.

-Four Eagles ended the regular season undefeated in Big South singles play: Burns (8-0), Proctor (9-0), Santos (9-0) and Soloveva (9-0).

-Proctor owns a 20-2 record, reaching the 20 win mark every year of her Winthrop career.

-Soloveva was nothing but dominant in 2019, putting up a 17-match winning streak in her 18-1 overall record.

QUOTABLE

"I think it's very exciting. Every time we win the conference and participate in the NCAA Tournament it's always the highlight of our season. It's always prestigious and an honor to go play and represent Winthrop and the Big South in the tournament. Our girls really believe we can do well. I think winning the first round last year gave us an extra belief that we can do it again. We go in there with high expectations to do the best that we can but we know that we are facing a team that has beaten us 4-0 in the beginning of the season so we are going to have to step up and play really tough tennis to beat them."

-Head Coach Cid Carvalho
