ROCK HILL, S.C. - Winthrop men's tennis heads to the Peach State for a pair of nonconference matches in Statesboro, Ga. this weekend. The Eagles will face host Georgia Southern on Fri., Mar. 8 and Kennesaw State on Sat., Mar. 9. Both matches are set for 11 a.m.

EAGLE HIGHLIGHTS 
-The weekend's matches will be the first for the Eagles since Feb. 17 after four-consecutive matches were forced to be postponed due to inclement weather.

-Senior Diego Quiroz, freshman Alberto Tinagli and junior Connor Williamson each own five-match winning streaks. Williamson has won four of five in straight sets. 

-The Eagles' success so far this season has followed the doubles point, winning each of the five matches in which they have won the doubles point, and losing the four matches in which their opponents take the opening point.

THE MATCH-UPS
-Georgia Southern enters the weekend coming off a 4-2 win over fellow Big South foe Presbyterian. These Eagles beat their only common opponent with Winthrop played so far this season, NC A&T, by the same score, 7-0.

-Kennesaw State comes off a two-match winning streak, defeating Austin Peay and Chattanooga in the past week. Three of the Owls' four losses are to Power 5 opponents, two against Kentucky and one to Georgia Tech.

UP NEXT
The Eagles return to Rock Hill Tennis Center next weekend for two matches, hosting Appalachian State on Sat., Mar. 16 at 1 p.m., then taking on Big South opponent Longwood on Sun., Mar. 17 at 3 p.m.
