THE MATCH-UP
-Charlotte owns a 12-6 overall record and is 3-2 in Conference USA. The 49ers posted a 6-1 win over Winthrop's fellow Big South opponent Charleston Southern on Feb. 15 and also defeated Davidson, another common foe with the Eagles, 6-1 on Mar. 16.

-The Niners are coming off two weekend conference road wins entering Thursday's match, a 5-2 victory at Middle Tennessee and a 4-0 win over Western Kentucky.

-In last year's contest, Winthrop took a dramatic 4-3 victory on the road at Charlotte's Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex in a nearly four-hour match. Soloveva battled back from down 2-5 in her first set to win her match 7-5, 6-0 to tie the match at 3-3, and
Megan Kauffman delivered the victory with a three-setter win at the No. 3 position that was down to a set tiebreak decision in the third set.
