ROCK HILL, SC— The Winthrop men's basketball team is seeded third for next week's Big South Conference Tournament. The quarterfinals and semifinals will take place at Gore Arena on the campus of Campbell University with the championship game taking place at the highest remaining seed on Mar. 10.

Winthrop finished the regular season 18-11 overall and 10-6 in the Big South as it tied with Gardner-Webb for third in the standings. The tie-breaker favored the Eagles as they are seeded third while Gardner-Webb is the 4^th seed. This is the second straight season and fourth all-time the Eagles have been seeded third for the conference tournament.

Eagles will play on Thursday, Mar. 7 at 2 p.m. and face the winner between 11^th seeded USC Upstate and #6^th seeded Charleston Southern. Winthrop was 1-0 against USC Upstate this season and 2-0 against the Bucs. The quarterfinal game will air live on ESPN3.

While Campbell earned the overall number one seed, Radford is seeded second followed by Winthrop, Garnder-Webb, High Point, Charleston Southern, Presbyterian College, Hampton, Longwood, UNC Asheville and USC Upstate.
