Vivian Segnini unveiled the 2020 Winthrop women's tennis spring schedule Tuesday.

The Eagles open the season with five road matches, beginning with Wake Forest on Jan. 18. Winthrop's spring campaign includes an impressive slate of nonconference opponents, including additional ACC foes Virginia Tech and NC State and a trip to West Virginia to face Marshall and Miami University (Ohio). The Eagles will also take on frequent nearby opponents College of Charleston, Davidson, Charlotte and Furman.

Winthrop's first home contest also serves as the first Big South Conference action of the season, hosting Hampton on Feb. 21. The Eagles will play six home matches overall, five against Big South opponents. The final home match of the season will be a reunion with former conference rival Liberty on Mar. 24.

CHAMPIONSHIP LEGACY
In 2019 Winthrop won its 21st all-time Big South Conference Championship title, earning its 17
th bid to the NCAA Tournament. This year's championship will be played in Asheville, N.C. Apr. 16-19 hosted by UNC Asheville.

Senior
Alisa Soloveva will step into the spotlight with the departure of All-Americans
Megan Kauffman and
Lauren Proctor. Soloveva has earned wins nationally in the fall tournament season, including a victory over twentieth-ranked Asuka Kawai of Illinois at the Oracle ITA Masters in Malibu, Calif.
