EAGLE HIGHLIGHTS
-Senior Ellie Burns hung in for a three set victory at No. 6 to deliver the clinching point in Winthrop's 4-3 victory over Memphis at the ITA Kickoff Weekend Sunday, her first win of the season.

-No. 66 Lauren Proctor and newcomer Rafaela Santos are both undefeated in singles play so far this season.

-All-Americans Megan Kauffman and Lauren Proctor are off to a 3-0 start at the No. 1 doubles position, with wins over William & Mary, Oklahoma and Memphis duos.

THE MATCH-UP
-Georgia Tech received votes in the latest ITA/Oracle Division I National Rankings, sitting just outside the top 25.

-The Yellow Jackets enjoy one player who entered the season ranked in the singles top 25, Kenya Jones at No. 24, and one ranked doubles pair, Valeriya Deminova and Victoria Flores at No. 39.

-Jones will likely face off at the No. 1 position with Winthrop's No. 66 Lauren Proctor in a battle of ranked players. Both are 2-0 on the season. Proctor will also likely see Jones during doubles play as Jones has been pairing with Jeanette Lin at the No. 1 doubles position for Tech. Proctor and Kauffman faced off with Jones and then-partner Paige Hourigan in the NCAA Tournament match last season.

-No. 39 Deminova/Flores have been playing the No. 2 position for Tech, which over the past several matches has been a partnership of Alisa Soloveva and Rafaela Santos for the Eagles.

-Georgia Tech is 0-3 after a tough schedule to start the season, facing No. 16 Ohio State and Auburn in the ITA Kickoff Weekend, and dropping to No. 20 Texas Tech Wednesday.

PRESEASON RANKINGS
Proctor entered the spring ranked No. 66 after the fall season. Doubles duo Proctor and Kauffman, who tore through 2018 on an undefeated 24-match winning streak that carried them to the NCAA Doubles Championship Quarterfinals, are ranked No. 22 in the nation.

LAST SEASON'S MATCH
Winthrop took on No. 4 Georgia Tech in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Tech's home court in Atlanta after advancing for the first time in program history. The Eagles put up a battle on several courts, but the Yellow Jackets earned a 4-0 victory.
