ROCK HILL, SC—Winthrop University First Year Experience and the Winthrop Athletic Department welcomed the freshman class of 2022 with the annual "Rock The Hill" event, Saturday afternoon at the Winthrop Coliseum.
A little over 1,000 freshmen gathered in the arena to participate in games, dancing and learn about what it means to be a Winthrop Eagle. Winthrop head men's basketball coach
Pat Kelsey emceed the event as he displayed lots of passion and Winthrop pride to the newest members of the student body. Kelsey introduced the freshmen to many of the student-athletes as well.
The first-year students engaged in numerous activities as they learned the pre-game and in-game chants as well as the Winthrop fight song and the alma mater.
