Long Jump Official Results
TAMPA, FL—Quemell Brave's collegiate career came to an end Thursday afternoon but not before finishing 28
th in the East Preliminary Championship on the campus of the University of South Florida.
Brave closed out his successful career with a leap of 7.36m to finished 28
th out of 48 competitors. This was his second consecutive outdoor track and field season qualifying for the East Preliminary Championships as he placed 33
rd in 2017.
"What a great year and career for Quemell," said associate head track and field coach
Bobbie Schreiner. "He's a tremendous athlete that came ready every time he lined up. I'm fortunate to have been able to coach him and I'll miss seeing him fly."
Brave, who is Winthrop's first ever male long jumper to qualify for a regional, finishes his impressive career at Winthrop with 14 career first-place finishes in the long jump. Just this past season he combined for five first-place finishes. He is the school record holder for the long jump in indoor and outdoor. In his senior year he also captured first place in the long jump at both the indoor and outdoor Big South Conference Championships.
