ROCK HILL, S.C. - Winthrop men's tennis (3-5) continues dual play this week with matches Thursday and Saturday. The Eagles will host Tennessee Tech on Thurs., Mar. 8 at 12 p.m. at Rock Hill Tennis Center, then head to Elon for a road match on Sat., Mar. 10 at 12 p.m.

THE MATCH-UPS
Tennessee Tech is off to a 2-9 start with wins against Asheville and Lipscomb. Elon has had a 6-5 start to the season, but three of its five losses have come against Power 5 opponents, two of which were ranked in the Top 20.
EAGLE HIGHLIGHTS
-Winthrop is coming off two-straight 5-2 wins to open up Big South Play this past weekend over Gardner-Webb and UNC Asheville. The gutsy wins featured multiple three-set matches in singles play.

Gabriel Dias and Josh Ryan have won four-straight matches at the No. 3 doubles position. In singles play, Dias has won three of his last four and Ryan has won three-straight matches.

Diego Quiroz has won five of his last six singles matches at court one.
BIG SOUTH PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophomore
Gabriel Dias was named Big South Player of the Week Wednesday for the first time in his career after a 4-0 performance in crucial matches helped the Eagles open Big South play 2-0 against Gardner-Webb and Asheville. The award marks the second-straight week an Eagle player won the honor after junior
Diego Quiroz earned the award on Feb. 28.
UP NEXT
The Eagles continue Big South play next week with two back-to-back road matches, Sat., Mar. 17 at Radford and Sun., Mar. 18 at Longwood.
