ROCK HILL, S.C. – Winthrop women's tennis junior
Lauren Proctor rose one spot to No. 14 in the latest Oracle/ITA Division I Women's National Singles Rankings, released Feb. 7, 2018, the highest ranking ever for a Winthrop player. She is currently the only student-athlete ranked from the Big South Conference and the highest-ranked student-athlete from any school in South Carolina.
Proctor competed in three ITA grand slam events this fall, including winning the title at the ITA Regional Championship, the first-ever win of that championship in program history. She went on to compete in the ITA National Fall Championships. Proctor also won the title at the ITA National Summer Championships and was ranked No. 55 entering the fall season. Her title victories have included big wins over ACC opponents, including Duke, Wake Forest, Clemson and UNC.
