ROCK HILL, S.C. – Winthrop men's tennis (1-5) fell 6-0 to Georgia Southern (2-7) Sunday morning to split the weekend's first two home matches. Due to forecasted inclement weather in the afternoon, the match start time was moved up an hour and a half, and the match began with singles play instead of doubles. With the match being decided in singles and weather moving in, the doubles matches would go unplayed.

The Eagles struggled to find momentum, with only junior Diego Quiroz and junior Leandros Pappayiannis earning a set victory.

The Eagles open Big South play next weekend with two road matches, first at Gardner-Webb Fri., Mar. 2 at 2:30 p.m., then at UNC Asheville on Sun., Mar. 4 at 2 p.m.
